This is turning out to be TRUE.
Past week, I made this comment and some people made fun of it. But, it's turning out to be true. They are now fully focusing on EB3 and I think they will continue to do untill they finish all Eb3. Once they reached last quarter then they will make EB2-I/C current and distribute those spill-over visas across EB. They don't have to make EB3-ROW current to give some spill-over to EB3-I. What ever will be left at the end of quarter will be spilled across EB's.
I am expecting lot of REDs on this one.

That is not true, my lawyer who is very influential and he has some good contacts he told me that this year spill-over would be different form last year. I was stupid so didn’t believe him about July 2007, and paying it for now for not having EAD.
I know this is hard to believe especially if something comes from lawyer.

Let us continue a debate on
a) Pros of this idea
b) Cons of this idea
c) Alternative we might have.
Also, please do not get emotionally attach to an idea let democratically select that is best for the community.
Please limit to those ideas that are executable and within the bounds of law.
The campaign will fail in my opinion. Because anytime you ask people to spend money, many will not. Such activity and motivation for the campaign will die out next week when visa bulletin fever is over. We will again get agitated next month same time. So unless we figure out a campaign idea that costs us no money, it is bound to fail. I am for a phone call campaign. Or if we really want to do something big, we should do a rally in DC with 10 thousand members.
That is right. I said before and I am saying again. I am against sending flowers or calculators because.
1. They cost money (Some people may not do that just because of that).
2. USCIS will like those toys for their kids (Please come out of the movie mood, movies impress a lot but they are a lot different from real life). Believe me they will treat these things as wonderful gifts and we will end up spending time and money for these.
3. It will not make any difference to USCIS.
4. USCIS can always redirect all those flowers to orphanage or other places, what they cannot do is redirect our posters trying to put them to shame.
I have been appealing a lot about this. Why do not we have a letter compain along with posters which should put them to shame. These should not only be sent to USCIS, but also to the press, congressmen, president of US and yes the director of USCIS. I have created several posters here.

It's call reseach topic.. We have to find some USCIS support documents for each case. We need some earlier USCIS decisions for each senarios/theories.
RG provided few supporting CIS rules in earlier post and seems logical. But not sure if RG or RK is right.
It's confusing indeed.
One of IV members 'lazycis' (he is a knowledgable & senior member) also mentioned this, which exactly matches with what RG said:

Dont worry about 1200$ cheque. It is also a big amount.
We pay money for lot of things like GC , H1B visa , more than 75% pay money for getting sponsorship and to run the payroll.
We are not only screwed by the US government, but by our Desi Employers, inbetween rats who are the middleman.
Look for GC and try to work on 1099 which is the best deal.
We need to expedite our views for Jobs and GC. We are fighting for 1200$ of cheque's when there'nt more jobs to keep our status legal and our GC is costing us more like the Medical Insurance.
Getup and think what are our priorities.

i just returned from an infopass meeting... the guy i talked to said that they recently have a directive from the DHS/USCIS that they want to separate the legal stuff from the illegal stuff and hence they are planning to adjudicate a record number of EB apps in the next quarter or two... does anyone else concur? is this true or were my ears just ringing in that meeting?

I have a suggestion we need to meet the senators office in person and also try to get more visibility in terms of getting exposed to media may be channels like
a) AZN TV
b) India waves
c) CBS
d) NBC
Since we have hired Quinn & Gillispie we need to understand whats their strategic plan and what they have in plate for us. We need to have vision in front of us. All I am trying to say is identify the senators who would favor the CIR/SKILL Bill etc and have the immigrationvoice.org volunteers meet them in person. Some of the things I have mentioned may be redundant but, I wanted to make my point clear, calling the senators office just a week before with phone calls webfaxes etc is not just bearing any fruits as we have learnt from our past experiences.

Interesting discussion...
My point - I am going to take things in a stride, basically wait till I can - doesn't hurt me as long as I go about my daily routine.
All who are thinking of jumping the fence and giving up, one piece of advice - if you do not have kids and plan to have any in this life, please do it NOW - have them be born here (all of them) and then move on with whatever / wherever you want to go.
At least this is a gift you will be giving your kids for their lifetime and all the generations following them (remember - a US citizen's kid can be a US citizen no matter where he/she is born) - so you will be arranging US citizenship for all your great^n * grand * kids (0 <= n <= infinity) !
This is how I think about it when I do not think about MYSELF. Once the kids are born, you can flaunt their American Passports and feel happy in their well-being and security (for whatever it is worth) and move on to Canada / India / Singapore / wherever! Live happily.
And do not forget your kids can sponsor you when they are 21.

bpratap, faced similar issue since they don't understand. Even if they do they are worried it may cause trouble when they sell the loan to some one else.
I have refinanced with Penfed and they don't have this requirement. It helps to put 20% down payment as some banks waive this 3 year rule with that.
Can you post the name of the bank so others don't waste time and money with those banks.

I am having a home loan with ICICI. I strongly recommend do not go with ICICI. They are very fast to increase variable APR. If it declines their comment was who are watching a market. In one instance all other banks reduced their VR but not ICICI. When I emailed ,they simple said we will let you know if there any changes but never reduced. In case increasee even before announcement by RBI, they increased my APR. More over If I want to repay earlier they are charging 2% penalty. so I stongly advice do not look ICICI bank for load if you want save some money. They are not right when it comes to loan. I had always difficult to change my address on my A/c

Imagine the miracles that we can do with that kind of fund!! And I am damn sure that we can afford $ 20 per month. Cost of few gallons of gas per month.
Non contributing, active members! Please wake up atleast now and do some soul searching!!!

Best thing would be to apply for EAD/AP about 6 months from now because bulk of the new workload will be concentrated in June, July and August filings and it might take 5-6 months for all of them to get EADs. same thing when time comes for renewals.
If someone applies EAD/AP 6 months from now, chances are he/she will be able to avoid the crowd and get it in 3 months.
